A large metal bolt was missing on board, at this time all the coolies had left the Steamer, the second Engineer reported the loss to me. I sent our Compradore to find the culprit; within half an hour he brought in the Defendant who had the bolt. It was a bolt which belonged to the Wyoming.
The Defendant says, I was given it by another Coolie. There were nineteen of us employed on Friday in carrying coal. We got on board about ten o'clock in the morning, she was full of coal. We went in the boat towards the West a long way where she was, to put the coal on board her.
